Our client, a respected global manufacturing company of many product lines, is looking to add a Sales Engineer in the Greater NY/Long Island area. The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated background of developing relationships, securing orders, and strategically positioning themselves within a region to capture on set targets. Prior experience selling for a manufacturing company preferred. This position is based out of Greater NY/Long Island area.

Pay and Benefits: $100K-$120K + Bonus, Health/Dental/Vision/401k

Responsibilities of a Sales Engineer:

· Establish and develop relationships by performing demonstrations of company services/products through personal meetings, seminars, and surveys.

· Keep customers informed on supply and pricing, as well as supply trends, assisting with inventory control and product availability.

· Generate new and maintain existing orders by performing selling activities.

· Take responsibility for growing sales and profitability within assigned areas.

· Call on new and existing customers to establish and maintain relationships.

· Stay up-to-date on new products, changes in assigned territory, and other information that may be important to customers.

· Prepare and submit timely reports/records on all phases, including call reports, and other areas required by management.

· Ensure teamworking philosophy with other departments to facilitate problem solving and good customer service.

Success Factors of a Sales Engineer:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Marketing, or related field preferred.

· 2-5 years of territory sales experience, preferably in the manufacturing arena.

· Must have experience product selling, pricing, negotiating, and channel management.

· Ability to naturally influence, both of internal and external individuals.

· Excellent written/verbal communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.

· Experience in building strong sales teams, both national and remote, a plus.

· Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

· SAP and/or CRM experience preferred.
